# Configure paid and members-only activities

Access and payment rules belong to the schedule because the same activity can have different arrangements on different days.

## Included or separately paid

* Choose **Included or free activity** when no separate payment is collected at check-in.
* Choose **Separate payment required** to set the amount and currency for the session or weekly series.

For a paid activity, staff can record cash or card payment during check-in, leave the amount outstanding, or waive it when their permissions allow.

## Restrict attendance

Enable the members-only option on the schedule and choose the membership tiers allowed to attend.

When an ineligible person tries to check in, Memberply blocks the check-in and explains why. An authorised staff member can override the restriction with a recorded reason when an exception is appropriate.

Changing a reusable activity does not silently change these rules on every schedule.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.memberplyhub.net/activities-and-schedules/paid-and-members-only-activities.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
