# Getting started

Memberply Community gives your organisation one place to manage membership, activities, attendance and staff access.

If your organisation does not yet have an account, begin with [Start a Memberply Community trial](/getting-started/start-a-free-trial.md). After signing in, open **Getting Started** to see your organisation's setup progress. Memberply checks each step automatically as you complete it.

The recommended order is:

1. Create your membership tiers.
2. Add your first member.
3. Set up a site and area.
4. Create an activity.
5. Schedule a weekly activity.
6. Configure a check-in station.
7. Pair a check-in device.

Check-in is optional. An organisation running online activities can use Memberply without configuring a physical site or station.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.memberplyhub.net/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
